SCOVILLED

This sauce is one I've been waiting to try for some time. CaJohns sauces are always enjoyably unique.

This is sweeter than I expected. I know, chipotle is going to have a smoke kick to it, which is a present flavor here, but where normally there's a tang to chipotle sauces, this mellows instead, reaching a sweet and garlicy note with almost no aftertaste.

If I were new to black-garlic, this would be a great place to start a journey with it. It's smooth and glossy, and will get into the nooks and crannies of whatever you use it on. I might have wanted more heat as a personal preference, but that doesn't change this glowing review. This feels versatile and fragrant, and would go with a wide variety of dishes, and I can bring it out for guests without scaring them away.

Blair's Pure Death has long been my favorite sauce. I generally have a bottle of it at work and another at home, and sometimes I travel with it.

It's clean, and simple. A mash of Jolokia (the ghost pepper), and habanero, with just enough vinegar, with the perfect consistency to stick to whatever you put it on, and enough heat to make you Feel Alive (tm) without being what I would consider a super-hot.

I can't recommend Pure Death enough!

Absolutely blown away by my first box. All three sauces were delicious. I am already looking forward to next month's box. As someone who spends a ton of money for hot sauces from farmers markets and online, this is perfect for me and allows me to try new sauces. Best birthday gift I have ever gotten myself!

Flavor and heat are packed into this sauce with neither overwhelming the other. The flavor is addicting. The spice is addicting. The bottle will fly off my shelf.

The use of the different peppercorns in this sauce sets it apart and really makes the flavor pop. As someone who loves pepper on everything, the sauce speaks to me. The initial smell is very peppercorn forward and the flavor follows suit. I have tried a few sauces from this brand, and I have to say this is the best one yet.

This sauce is not "Hot," but what is lacks in heat it makes up for in phenomenal flavor. The garlic and miso pair perfectly with the flavor profile that comes from the peppers, carrots, and onions. This is a "put on everything" sauce. This bottle will not last me very long!

An absolutely flavorful punchy hot sauce. It’s at the top of the list in terms of popularity on SCOVILLED for a good reason. Masala spices forward taste for sure. AND it’s got heat that sneaks up on you, is a bit delayed, and then it lingers on. Highly recommended for heat fanatics for being hot but tasty too! Anytime my family or friends try Dirty Dick’s it’s always the same response. It’s always “That sauce is delicious…what is that?….where can I get some.” I always found it more sweet than spicy and I’m still right on that. I eventually made my way to the ingredients list and was shocked to see Banana’s & Raisins? Huh? Better yet this sauce is part of my everyday lineup. It’s gonna stay that way.
