The Subtle Tease is a fermented green hot sauce with white truffle, the second official collaboration between J’s Small Batch and Paulman Acre. Fermented serrano, jalapeño and Anaheim peppers, with bell, poblano and a super hot blend, give it a green fermented tang; Meyer lemon brings zest, and fresh white truffle leaves savory subtleties. The makers rate it medium to hot.
It took second place among green hot sauces at the 2023 Spicy Flave Awards. Try it on seafood, chicken, tacos, avocado toast, roasted vegetables and eggs. J’s Small Batch is Jason Robey’s brand, made at California Hot Sauce Solutions in Oceanside, California, which he founded with Paulman Acre’s Tim Paulman in 2018.

All-natural small-batch hot sauces from Southern California, made by Jason Robey with fresh seasonal peppers and no preservatives.
J’s range runs from the OG and two taco sauces to Thai’d Down Red Curry, Raisin the Bar, Fire Truck, The Exorcist and The 5th Henchman. Jason also co-founded California Hot Sauce Solutions, and several sauces here are collaborations with Paulman Acre, including La Pistola Smoked Strawberry Habanero, Subtle Tease and Sir Atcha.
