Fat Cat Papaya Pequin Passion is a mild, Caribbean-inspired sauce of papaya, pineapple, ginger and allspice, brought together by pequin peppers, tiny chilies with a punchy back heat. At the 2012 Hot Pepper Awards it took first place for tropical fruit sauces and for unique sauces, and in 2013 first for fruit sauces; it also won the flavor category at the 2013 Key Lime Pie Festival hot sauce competition.
Sweet and spicy, it tops lighter meats like turkey breast, ham and pork loin, and it suits seafood. Fat Cat Gourmet makes its sauces in Florida.
