Fat Cat Everyday Red Jalapeño is the company’s take on the classic medium-heat table sauce, the kind it calls “the supermarket hot sauce”: jalapeño mash, roasted red peppers and garlic with vinegar and paprika. Fat Cat calls it its most versatile sauce and puts it at 3,000 to 7,000 on the Scoville scale, depending on the harvest.
A few dashes go on eggs, sandwiches, soups, stews, barbecue, wings and burgers. It also stands in for red pepper sauce in recipes, and mixed with equal parts butter it makes a wing sauce. For mild heat, try Everyday Green Jalapeño.
