Dat’l Do-It Datil Pepper Hot Sauce is a mild, sweet, tomato-rich sauce from St. Augustine, Florida, made with datil peppers, onion, green bell pepper, red wine vinegar, Worcestershire, a little orange habanero and molasses. Researchers have found the datil growing naturally in the United States only around St. Augustine.
It’s the sauce the company grew from: first made in the kitchen of Barnacle Bill’s Restaurant, it led to Dat’l Do-It’s founding in 1982. Use it on shrimp, fish, oysters, crab, lobster and clams. It contains anchovies, from the Worcestershire sauce.
